|
The hospitalization expenses for childbirth are paid directly to the hospital by the National Insurance Institute, for women who are also eligible for a birth grant. The hospitalization grant is a uniform payment and the amount is determined in the regulations.
In addition to the hospitalization grant, a supplement is also paid directly to the hospital for the hospitalization of a premature infant under the following conditions: 1. The newborn weighs up to 1,750 grams; 2. The newborn was hospitalized for at least four days in the neonatal intensive care unit.
An Israeli resident or the wife of an Israeli resident who gave birth abroad or who gave birth in Israel in a hospital with which the National Insurance Institute does not have an agreement should submit a claim for a birth grant and hospitalization grant to the National Insurance Institute.
