Special phone line
The National Insurance Institute has opened a special phone line to provide answers to all your questions having to do with the NII. The phone number is 08-6741111. The line is open from Sundays through Thursdays, between 8.30 and 17.00. The fax number is: 08-6710681. In addition, the national phone center of the NII – *6050 – continues to operate as usual.
Reception in local NII branches
The NII local branches in the combat area in the South of Israel are open to the public as usual.
Residents of the combat area who are presently staying outside their areas of residence can receive services at any local NII branch in Israel.
Assistance to the injured and to the families of those killed
The rehabilitation workers if the NII are visiting the injured in the various hospitals and are in continual contact with the social services of the hospitals in order to provide solutions to any problems of the injured or their families that may arise.
NII representatives will be in touch with the bereaved families in order to help them organize the funerals and to be with them at this difficult time.
Payment of unemployment benefit
A person who reported to the employment bureau on the last date determined for them in December 2008, until the bureau closed, and a person who is required to report to the bureau once a month – will receive their unemployment benefit payment as if they reported to the bureau until the end of the month.
A person who became unemployed after the employment bureau closed and who was therefore unable to report to the bureau for the first time, due to its closure, can submit a claim for unemployment benefit at any one of the NII’s local branches even if he did not yet report to the bureau.
A claim for unemployment benefit may be downloaded and sent by mail to any one of the NII’s local branches.
Information regarding the periods and times of payment will be published at a later date.
Payment of income support benefit to those reporting to the employment bureau
Persons who are receiving an income support benefit, who reported as required to the employment bureau in December 2008 until the bureau closed, will continue receiving their benefit, even though they do not report to the bureau.
