| Disabled child - Submitting a repeat claim |
A repeat claim can be submitted for a child for whom a previous claim was rejected or for a child who is receiving a partial benefit, after 6 months have elapsed from the date of the rejection of the claim or the date of notification of the benefit. The claimant can request a new hearing of the claim at any time, provided that he submits medical certification of the worsening of the child’s condition. The National Insurance Institute will consider the application only after 6 months have elapsed from the date of rejection of the application for the benefit or from the date on which the rate was determined. However, if, after receipt of the medical documents, in the opinion of the Institute’s doctor there are new facts that would justify increasing the rate of the benefit, the application will be considered even if 6 months have not yet elapsed from the date of the previous decision.
