A pension for a widow or widower, a pension for orphans, a special survivors’ benefit, a seniority increment.
Pension for a widow or widower The amount of the pension is determined by the age of the widow/er and the number of child/ren in his/her care.
Monthly survivors’ pension amounts For a widow/er age 40-50 without children - NIS 1,113 (as of 01.01.2012) For a widow/er age 50 or older without children - NIS 1,481 (as of 01.01.2012) For a widow/er age 80 or older - NIS 1,565 (as of 01.01.2012) For a widow/er with one child - NIS 2,176 (as of 01.01.2012) For a widow/er with two children - NIS 2,871 (as of 01.01.2012) For each additional child - NIS 695 (as of 01.01.2012) For a child in special circumstances (an orphan who has lost both parents, a single orphan whose surviving parent is not entitled to a survivors’ pension) - NIS 921 (as of 01.01.2012)
Seniority increment The survivors of a person who was insured for 11 or more years before his death are entitled to a seniority increment.
The rate of the increment: for each year from the 11th year of the insurance - 2% of the pension, with a maximum increment rate of 50%.
Special survivors’ benefit A special survivors’ benefit is paid to the widow and orphans of an Israeli resident who was not insured (because he was age 60-62 – in accordance with his date of birth – or older at the time he immigrated to Israel) The rates of the special survivors’ benefit are equivalent to the survivors’ pension under the National Insurance Law, without a seniority increment.
