Unemployment - Repeat claim for unemployment benefit

A repeat claim for unemployment benefit can be submitted only after 12 months have elapsed from the start of the previous entitlement.

The same conditions of entitlement apply to repeat claims as to first claims.

Under the provisions of the law, the payment period for unemployment benefit and the amount of the unemployment benefit is reduced for unemployed persons who have not yet reached the age of 40, and have submitted more than one claim for unemployment benefit within 4 years:

1. Period of unemployment benefit payments - The maximum period for all claims submitted by that person for unemployment benefit may not exceed 180% of the maximum number of days. In other words, someone who received unemployment benefit for the maximum number of days and afterwards submitted an additional application for unemployment benefit, and 4 years have not elapsed from the date of commencement of the previous entitlement, will receive unemployment benefit for the second time for only 80% of the number of days due to him. Afterwards, he will not be entitled to any more unemployment benefit until the end of the 4 years.

2. The amount of the unemployment benefits during the additional period will be reduced and will be 85% of the unemployment benefit.

These provisions will also apply to an unemployed person who is receiving an unemployment benefit for the period of his participation in vocational training.
