Special benefit for returning residents

Refund of special payment paid to redeem waiting period

In honor of Israel’s 60th anniversary, the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption began a campaign aimed at encouraging former Israeli residents to return home to Israel


The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption will refund returning residents for their special payment that they paid to redeem the waiting period, paid to the National Insurance Institute in order to receive medical services under the State Health Insurance Law, if they meet the following conditions:

1. They were defined by the Ministry of Absorption as returning
    residents;
2. They return/ed to Israel between November 1, 2007 and
    August 31, 2008;
3. They began to pay the special payment for redeeming
    the waiting period as of November 1, 2007 and not later
    than December 30, 2008.

4. They paid the full amount of the special payment and 6
    months have elapsed since the day of the first payment

Dear returning resident,

If you think that you meet the above conditions, you should pay the special payment of NIS 8,880 now (six equal payments of NIS 1,480 each) and you can receive a refund of the payment from the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption.

 

Methods of payment:

 payment on the payment site of the National Insurance
    Institute, with an Israeli credit card. on condition that there
    is a credit framework for the entire amount of the payment
    (NIS 8,880 as of January 1, 2008)
. It is not possible to pay
    with a credit card issued abroad.

 Israeli checks: 6 checks of an Israeli bank, to the amount of NIS
    1,480 each, in consecutive monthly payments.
 foreign currency checks
: 6 checks of a foreign bank in foreign
    currency, to the amount of NIS 1,480 according to the exchange
    rate of the local currency on the day that the checks were sent
    out, in consecutive monthly payments.
·      The checks should be written to the order of the National
     Insurance Institute 
and sent by mail, indicating the ID
     number, first name, last name, address 
and email address
     if relevant – to: The National Insurance Institute, 13 Weizman 

     Blvd, Jerusalem  91909, attention: Ms. Telma Friedberg.


·        A verification of the checks received shall be sent to the
      indicated address.
