The rate of the daily benefit is the lower of the following two amounts:
1. The basic amount divided by 30: NIS 259.27 (as of 01.01.2009) .
2. The expectant mother’s salary (liable to insurance contributions) during the quarter year that preceded cessation of work due to the pregnancy bed rest, divided by 90.
A cost-of-living increment is paid on these amounts, and national and health insurance contributions and income tax are deducted from them.
The benefit is paid into the applicant's bank account for each period of pregnancy bed rest (for the first period -if it lasted at least 30 consecutive days, and for each additional period - if it lasted at least 14 consecutive days).
The benefit is paid on the 20th of each month for the previous month.
In any case, no benefit will be paid for a period that exceeds two weeks before the date on which the applicant underwent the first medical examination in which it was determined that she requires bed rest.
