The National Insurance Institute pays adoption allowance to the father who stopped his work and took a birth and parenthood period. Adoption allowance compensates the father for the loss of his salary during his break from work to take care of the child.
The father can take a leave for a birth and parenthood period together with his spouse or replace her for part of that period.
