Family members of returning hostages and deceased hostages who have been repatriated are entitled to an organization grant.

Organization grant for families of returning hostages

Family members of returning hostages are entitled to a one-time organization grant.

Who is eligible for the grant?

  • Parents and spouses who were entitled to quarterly grants while their next of kin was in captivity.
  • Children and siblings who were 18 years of age or older on the day of the hostage's release and who were entitled to quarterly grants while their next of kin was in captivity. 

Grant amount

The amount of the subsidy is calculated based on the relationship and the time elapsed between the date of the hostage's release and the date of the last quarterly subsidy payment, as detailed in this table:

For example: the hostage was released on 1.3.25 and the family members received a quarterly grant on 7.1.25, the organization grant will be paid as follows:

The hostage's spouse and parents will receive NIS 20,000, and the hostage's child/sibling will receive NIS 14,000.

Organization grant for children and siblings of repatriated deceased hostages

Children and siblings of repatriated deceased hostages are entitled to a one-time organization grant, provided they meet the following conditions:
  • They turned 18 on the day the deceased hostage was returned.
  • They were entitled to quarterly grants.
  • They are not entitled to compensation under the Soldiers' Families Law or the Hostile Actions Casualties Compensation Law. 

Grant amount

The grant amount is calculated based on the time elapsed between the date of the abducted person's release and the date of the last quarterly grant payment, as detailed in this table:

For example: If the hostage was released on 1.3.25 and their child/sibling received a quarterly grant on 7.1.25, they will be entitled to an organization grant of NIS 14,000.
