First aid to hostile actions casualties
In cases of distress and anxiety, you are entitled to immediate aid financed by the National Insurance Institute (without submitting a claim) provided by psychologists, psychiatrists, social and clinical workers.

Claim for recognition of a hostile actions prejudice
If you were injured in a hostile action, you need to fill out a declaration of injury in a hostile action and claim for recognition of a hostile action.
The claim and documents submitted to us will be transferred for approval to the certifying authorityThe certifying authority is the body appointed by the Minister of Defense to decide whether or not the person's injury meets the definition set down in the Hostile Action Casualties Law. If so, the person is recognized as a hostile-act injured person.
Only after the certifying authority has decided that the injury is in fact a hostile-act related injury will the National Insurance Institute handle the case.

Benefit during medical treatment
If, due to the injury, you are on sick leave or under medical treatments preventing you from work (with attending physician's approval, by means of certificate of illness) - you may be eligible for a medical treatment benefit, provided that neither your wage nor any other compensation are paid to you during that period.

Medical accessories
A person present during an hostile action and was thereby injured or lost his or her medical equipment, such as: prescription glasses, cane, hearing device and similar equipment, is entitled to submit to the branch of the National Insurance Institute nearest his place of residence, a request for refund of new equipment purchase, even without submitting a claim for recognition.
The request must be filed with a claim form for recognition for purpose of of damage caused to a medical accessory (BL/ 605), together with documents proving the damage of the accessory, a medical certificate regarding the accessory need, and a receipt. Refunds are paid according to the fees set forth by the Ministry of Defense.

Medical treatment funding
If the certifying authority of the Ministry of Defense recognized your injury as a hostile action injury, you are eligible for funding of medical expenses related to the injury. Medical treatment includes hospitalization, medication, medical aids, convalescence and medical rehabilitation.
The treatment is provided by hospitals and health maintenance organizations. To obtain funding commitments for treatments or refunds of expenses related to the injury, you are asked to contact the Hostile Actions Casualties Department of the branch of the National Insurance Institute nearest his place of residence. A claim can be filed through the online form for a debit or money return request. The issuance of coverage commitments and payment of refunds are conditional upon a medical certificate from the branch officer.
Aid and care to victims' family members
The Rehabilitation Department deals with refunding the expenses incurred by family members (first degree relative) of hostile actions casualties, such as: income loss due to hospitalization of the injured and expenses related to the stay at the hospital, accommodation near the injured, parking, telephone conversations and response in special circumstances.
The level of the aid is determined in accordance with the severity of the injury and the family situation.
To obtain the aid, one must approach the Rehabilitation Department of the branch of the National Insurance Institute nearest his place of residence.
