A person who died abroad and is buried abroad

When an Israeli resident passed away and was buried abroad, the NII will reimburse the cost of the burial to the person who bore that expense, provided that this person is in Israel. The amount of the reimbursement will not be higher than the maximum basic burial expenses: NIS 6,723 (as of Jan 01, 2022)

In order to receive the reimbursement, please submit a claim to your local NII branch on the personal claim form for burial expenses. The claim form may be submitted also by mail, fax, or to the service box of the local branch.

Please attach receipts on the expenses of the burial abroad to the form.
