Services provided to those entitled to a long-term care benefit

One may choose the appropriate services from the following basket:

• Visits to day-care centers – day-care centers serve the community's frail elderly, those needing nursing care and who are mentally-impaired, providing inclusive daily nursing and treatment. In this way, impaired elders are enabled to remain in their houses with their families and may avoid leaving home and community. Participants will be charged a fee of NIS 15 per day.
  Day-care centers provide professional services and social and cultural activities together under one roof. This combination enables the frail elderly to receive services more easily, allowing the opportunity to be involved in society and the community. Elderly people's visits to day-care centers assist their families and ease the burden of care.
  
  
• Personal home assistance - assistance provided by a caregiver in the home of the insured. This includes:
  - Personal care and supervision to help the elderly person perform the following routine tasks: dressing, feeding, washing, assistance with incontinence, changing absorbent products and bedding, mobility in and outside the home, supervision to prevent danger to the elderly person or others.
  - Assistance in household management is intended to fulfill the elderly's everyday needs, and include the following: house ordering and cleaning - order and cleaning are performed in the rooms used by the elderly, such as kitchen, dinning room, bathroom, restroom, bedroom (if the spouse sleeps in a separate room, the other bedroom is cleaned too) and one living room in the apartment. Cleaning does not include substantive works, such as windows, shutters and walls cleaning, detailed oven cleaning, moving heavy furniture and so forth - sweeping, dust, floors washing in the elderly's bedroom (not only wiping), basic kitchen maintenance, cooking meals in accordance with the elderly's dietary situation, light hand washing or machine wash, ironing, shopping and taking care of business out of home.
  - Assistance in taking medications: helping the elderly at the time of taking his prescription medications (by attending physician), which were prepared beforehand for the caregiver; remind the elderly to take medications and/or bring him his medications when required; bring a glass of water for medications take; provide technical help to the elderly during medications take - handing him/her the drug, bringing it near his/her mouth, helping him/her to assume a right position for taking the drug, cross the tablet, etc.
  
  Please note:
  - Care services are personalized for the elderly, and the caregiver does not have to meet the needs of other relatives;
  - Care does not involve services designed to support the elderly's medical treatment, or those designed to change his/her conditions of living, or assistance in shopping for house equipment or personal assistive products, and so forth.
  - In case of hospitalization, an insured person is entitled to receive long-term care services for the first 30 days of hospitalization. The care plan during hospitalization will depend on the entitled's needs and in coordination with his relatives. After his discharge from hospital, remaining care hours can be completed.
  
  
• A distress call transmitter – this supervision service receives calls for help from elderly people in distress. These calls are transmitted by means of devices installed in the homes of the elderly and connected to a hotline, which is manned by appropriate staff. In this way, the hours in which the elderly are supervised are in effect extended around the clock. The distress call service includes the loan of equipment connected to the hotline.
  
  
• Laundry services – this services include, laundry pick up, washing, folding and delivery to your home.
  A single laundry unit is 5 kg., which is considered as a quarter of weekly hour and deduced from your balance of hours to which you are entitled.
  
  
• Provision of disposable absorbent products – disposable absorbent products for adults.
