Unemployment benefit in the wake of coronavirus crisis – all information


The National Insurance Institute is concerned about your situation during this difficult time, due to the work stoppage caused by the novel coronavirus crisis.
On this site, we have compiled all information regarding your eligibility for unemployment benefits in accordance with your profession, and will constantly bring updates in that matter.

Please note,
For those who reached the end of their unemployment days after March 1, 2020 – we will extend payment of unemployment benefits automatically until March 30, 2020, as long as their year of unemployment did not end.
Those who accumulated at least 6 months of work (instead of 12) in the last 18 months – will be entitled to a half quota of unemployment days.
Those entitled to unemployment benefit, and have low income or no income at all – you should check your eligibility for income support.
Those entitled to unemployment benefits due to coronavirus crisis, who were called for reserve service – their time of reserve service will not be detrimental to their unemployment benefit eligibility.
To receive a reserve service benefit, one must submit to us a personal claim for reserve service benefits, together with last 6 pay slips in attachment.
