Certification of incapacity for work

An insured person who stops working due to injury receives a medical certificate of incapacity for work from his HMO.

The medical certificates must be submitted together with the claim for an injury allowance to the local NII branch in his as promptly as possible (only the original certificate must be submitted, copies will not be accepted). It is also possible to submit the claim by means of the website.

The insured person must comply with all the doctor’s instructions regarding the medical treatment. If he does not do so, the National Insurance Institute may deny him the right to a work injury benefit.
