Providing first medical care after the injury

Receiving medical care

A work injured is entitled to receive medical care from Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) alone (Medical Services Clalit, Leumit, Meuchedet and Macabi) according to the agreements signed with National Insurance, and not through private medical care.

Medical care involves: ambulance transfer, hospitalization, medication, medical examinations, x-rays, surgeries, orthopedic devices and any required medical accessory.

How to get medical care?

Important! First aid will also provided to the work injured by Magen David Adom, hospital and medical emergency clinic near the place of the injury (however, continual treatment is only provided at health maintenance organizations).

Evacuation and transport by ambulance on the day of the injury

A person transported by ambulance to receive first aid care on the day of the injury, is entitled to receive refund of this transportation by the HMO, in the following fashion:

  • Those who paid the ambulance transfer - need to submit to their HMO the authorization of work injury recognition they have received from the National Insurance, together with original receipts.
  • Those who haven't pay the ambulance transfer yet - must approach their HMO and check their right to receive a commitment form for the payment.
