Loan to start a first business

Parents, spouses, children, siblings of returned hostages, who have not previously utilized educational assistance or other vocational rehabilitation - may be eligible for a loan to start a first business.

Eligibility for the loan is a one-time advantage, and will be assessed based on the suitability of the business for the family member's education and employment experience.
Receiving the loan is subject to Discount Bank policy in all matters related to interest rates, number of guarantors, borrower's age, etc.

Loan amount: up to NIS 123,428

To receive the loan, the following must be submitted:

  • A detailed report from a center or institution dealing with the economic field regarding the proposed business (you can contact the Ministry of Economic Affairs for assistance in preparing an economic feasibility report).
  • A diagnostic report in which the eligible person is found to be suitable to engage in the requested field.
  • Presentation of additional sources of financing if required.


Loan to establish or complete an existing business

Parents, spouses, children, siblings of returned hostages who have not previously utilized educational assistance or other vocational rehabilitation - may be eligible for a loan to establish an existing business.

Eligibility for the loan is a one-time application, and will be assessed based on the suitability of the business for the family member's education and employment experience.
Receiving the loan is subject to Discount Bank policy in all matters related to interest rates, number of guarantors, borrower's age, etc.

Loan amount: up to NIS 25,799

To receive the loan, the following must be submitted:

  • A detailed report from a center or institution dealing with the economic field regarding the proposed business (you can contact the Ministry of Finance for assistance in preparing an economic feasibility report).
  • A diagnostic report in which the eligible person is found to be suitable to engage in the requested field
  • Presentation of additional sources of financing if required.


Purchase of a commercial vehicle for business use

Parents, spouses, children and siblings of returned hostages are eligible for a one-time tax grant to purchase a commercial vehicle for use in a business they own.
The assistance is provided by contacting customs and is an alternative to purchasing a vehicle for personal use.
The benefit is granted one time only.

Grant amount: up to NIS 75,310

To receive the grant, you must submit:

  • A valid driver's license
  • A vehicle order document.
  • A grant/loan application form


Purchase of a first vehicle used for driving lessons

Parents, spouses, children and siblings of returned hostages who are working as driving instructors are eligible for a one-time tax grant to purchase a commercial vehicle for use in a business they own.
The assistance is provided by contacting customs and is an alternative to purchasing a vehicle for personal use.
The benefit is granted one time only.

Grant amount: up to NIS 46,297

To receive the grant, you must submit:

  • A valid driver's license
  • A vehicle reservation document
  • A grant/loan application form
