Basic and increased return to work grant

The amount of the grant is determined as a percentage of unemployment benefit, and calculated based on the percentage of decrease in your wage.

For instance:

  • The wage used to calculate your unemployment benefits was NIS 10,000 gross per month.
  • You received unemployment benefits amounting to NIS 5,970 gross per month.
  • You return to work for a wage of NIS 7,000 gross per month (meaning you will earn 30% less than your previous wage).
  • You will receive a grant amounting to 30% of the unemployment benefits you were paid, or NIS 1,791 (NIS 71.64 per day).
  • The amount of your income from work and from the grant will be NIS 8,791 (7,000 + 1,791).

Grant maximum amount:

The maximum amount of the grant is determined according to the time of employment each month, and to the daily maximum amount you may earn from work and the grant.

Grant maximum amount per day - NIS 200.
Maximum amount of income from work and grant - NIS 632 per day.

For instance, assuming a person returns to work in November for a gross wage of NIS 12,000, the maximum grant that can be obtained amounts to NIS 4,432 (or up to the maximum amount of income totaling NIS 16,432).

Grant supplement for those working between 1.2.21 and 30.4.21

In addition to the return to work grant, the person who returned to work between 1.2.21 and 30.4.21 will be able to receive a supplement to the grant of NIS 1,500 or NIS 3,000.

Conditions of entitlement

The supplement to the grant is paid to those who meet ALL the following three conditions:

  1. You are eligible for the return to work benefit
  2. You did not work for a long time
    You were not employed at all as salaried between 24.9.20 and 31.1.21 (included).
  3. You were paid unemployment benefits for 130 days and above
    You were paid unemployment benefits for 130 days and above between 1.3.20 and 31.1.21 (included).
    In the number of days will only be take into account the days for which you were paid unemployment benefits, even if this is a consecutive period of time.


Important!

  • The first 5 unpaid waiting days are not included in the count of 130 unemployment days.
  • In the 130 days may also be included the days when you received the following benefits: maternity, pregnancy bed rest, work injury, reserve service, and provided that you have accrued 50 unemployment days.

Amount of the supplement

The amount of the supplement is determined according to the number of days for which you received a return to work grant:

  • For a person who received a return to work grant for 25-99 days - payment of a one-time supplement of NIS 1,500.
  • For a person who received a return to work grant for 100 days and above - payment of a one-time supplement of NIS 3,000.
