The National Insurance will pay approximately NIS 1 billion for occupancy grants for 2023

The National Insurance has so far transferred to 111,000 residents occupancy grants totaling NIS 800 million, for 3 periods approved by legislation, from the date of evacuation until December 10

As a reminder, the Occupancy Grants Law was passed by the government, and intended for residents of the North and South who independently evacuated to a place of accommodation that is not financed by the state, according to the date of evacuation of each settlement.

The grant is paid for an adult (age 18 and above) in the amount of NIS 200 per day, and for a child (up to age 18) – NIS 100 per day.

As of today, you can declare on the National Insurance website the fourth period that applies from 11/12/23 to 31/12/23.
The National Insurance estimates that for these four periods and the end of 2023 payments – the estimated amount that will be transferred to the evacuees
will be about NIS 1 billion.

As mentioned above, so far the grants have been paid to 111,000 evacuees, of whom grants have been paid for about 40,000 children under the age of 18.

In recent days, it has been decided by the government that eligibility for occupancy grants will be extended until 29/2/24.

The National Insurance wishes to clarify to the public that if there are soldiers or reservists who took a leave from service – even for a short time ,
and live in evacuated settlements, they will be able to report these days and receive occupancy grants for the time they did not spend
in their military service.
