The National Insurance Institute of Israel is one of the pillars on which the social policy in Israel is built. It works under the National Insurance Law, passed by the Knesset in November of 1953. The National Insurance Institute of Israel is designed to guarantee weak populations and families who are in temporary or long term difficulties, a financial basis for existence.
