Those who were stricken with polio while abroad

Under an amendment to the law in effect as of February 1, 2012, an Israeli resident who were stricken with polio while abroad may also be eligible for compensation, on condition that he underwent an operation in Israel due to this decease before January 1, 1970.

In order to receive compensation, you must submit a claim form for polio compensation-2007 and send it by mail or  fax to the local NII branch closest to your place of residence.

If you have submitted such a claim in the past, but it was deferred due to the fact that you were stricken with polio abroad, you must submit the claim again.

Important:

    • Those who submitted a claim up to December 1, 2012 and were found to be eligible were paid the compensation as of February 1, 2012.
    • Those who submit a claim from December 2, 2012  and are found to be eligible are paid the compensation only from the day of submission of the claim.
    • Claims that are submitted after March 1, 2015 by those who were stricken with polio abroad will be deferred.
