Changing the examination track

A change in the personal or employment status of a woman may cause a change in her definition as a disabled or as a disabled housewife, and as a result, also a change in the examination track.

Examples:
  • A woman who after beginning to receive a disability pension following her being examined in the housewife track, is widowed or divorced or begins to work – is no longer defined as a “housewife”, and will be re-examined according to her earning capacity.
  • A woman who separates from her husband and begins to receive a disability pension after being examined in the housewife track – because when she submitted the claim she had not yet been separated for 24 months – will be re-examined according to her earning capacity once 24 months have passed since the separation.
  • A woman, married to an insured man, who began to receive a disability pension after being examined in the earning capacity track because she was working, and after a period of time stops working – but has not accumulated a 12 months continuous period during the 24 months or 24 non-continuous months over the period of the 48 months that preceded the day she stopped working – will be examined in the “disabled housewife” track from the day she stopped working.
  • A single woman, divorcée or widow who had been examined in the earning capacity track, and who married after the year 2005, will not be re-examined in the “disabled housewife” track solely because of her marriage. A woman who married before 2005, and from the day of her marriage meets the definition of a disabled housewife – will be examined in the housewife track from the day of her marriage.

It is important to inform the National Insurance Institute of any change in the woman’s personal or work status.
