I am 42 years old and have a non-working income of NIS 1700 per month. I recently started receiving unemployment benefits. On which income should I pay health insurance contributions?

  • A person who receives unemployment benefits and also has an income of less than 25% of the average wage NIS 3,134 (as of Jan 01, 2024) – will only pay health insurance contributions on the unemployment benefits.
  • If his income is higher than 25% of the average NIS 3,134 (as of Jan 01, 2024) wage, he will pay health insurance contributions on both his income and the unemployment benefits.
