Ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 school year, which will begin in about two weeks, the National Insurance Institute will transfer the payment of annual study grants tomorrow (Tuesday) to over 140,000 families in Israel. The grant is intended to ease the financial burden involved in preparing for the upcoming school year – from purchasing textbooks, notebooks, bags, to all the equipment required for students.
This year, the National Insurance Institute will automatically transfer approximately NIS 335 million to the bank accounts of those eligible as study grant, an increase of approximately NIS 35 million compared to 2024. This National Insurance grant will be paid for 197,000 children to families headed by a single parent and for 79,000 children to families with 4 or more children who receive subsistence allowances (income support, alimony, disability, old age or survivors).
