Birth grant - How to submit the claim

The claim is submitted to the National Insurance Institute through the hospital in which the birth took place. The new mother should bring her identity card and her spouse's identity card with her to the hospital and provide the hospital with her bank account number or that of her spouse.

A new mother and her spouse who are not Israeli residents (i.e., neither she nor her spouse has an Israeli identity card), a new mother who gave birth in a medical institution in Israel that does not have an arrangement with the National Insurance Institute (except for a new mother who is a resident of the area and the Palestinian autonomy) and an adoptive parent, should submit a claim for a birth grant to the National Insurance Institute branch closest to their place of residence. The grant will be paid into the applicant's bank account.
