Prisoners of Zion and Families of Martyrs

The request should be submitted only by a Prisoner of Zion who has been recognized as such by the competent authority in the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption.  Entitlement to benefit is subject to an income test of the applicant and his spouse.

The claim is meant for widowers or widowers of Prisoners of Zion who had received a benefit from the National Insurance Institute due to their having been recognized as Prisoners of Zion, and who passed away after January 1, 1999. If there is no widow or widower, the request should be submitted by the child as defined in the law.

This request for recognition by the Authority for Determining Entitlement to Benefits at the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption should be submitted by a Prisoner of Zion or a detainee of Zion who has been imprisoned, detained or exiled for one of the following reasons:

-       His Zionistic activities in a country in which such activities were forbidden;

-       His Jewishness;

-       Hostile relations between the country in which he resided and Israel;

He was a resident of Israel before the establishment of the State and worked towards the establishment of the State.
