The National Insurance Institute is at your side during your life, from birth to advanced age, granting you a variety of social rights adapted to changing life situations.
The National Insurance Institute is responsible for the social security of Israeli residents.
Its primary mission is to ensure means of subsistence for those unable to earn their living.
The National Insurance Institute collects insurance contributions from all residents according to their social background and status, and pays benefits to those entitled. Hence, the income of economically established groups is transferred to weak and vulnerable groups and, thereby, the National Insurance Institute contributes to a more equitable distribution of national income and the reduction of dimensions of poverty. Digital systems only identify the date of issue of an identity card updated to the National Insurance Institute.
If it is a biometric identity card – the card may not yet have been activated with the Population Authority. In this case, you can contact the call center of the Population Authority at the number *3450 or by internet.
Please note that after activation of the ID card, the issue date will be updated with the National Insurance Institute after a few days.
If it is a very old card (issued in the 70s and 80s), issue dates are not available. In these cases, it will be impossible to issue an Internet code through the website, but only by coming to a branch of the Institute.
In the personal area, you will find the documents that the officer requires in order to complete the processing of your claim.
If you wish to send additional documents – you can do so by using the document sending service available here.
On the home page, you have to click on the link "order an internet code and password" or you can click on this link
After clicking on the link, you will access a page offering you the possibility to order a personal internet user code and, below, the possibility to order a secret code for call centers. Under "PIN code" you have to click on "Order now". After clicking on "Order now", you must enter the ID card number and date of birth of the insured person for whom you wish to order a code. It is also necessary to enter an e-mail address (currently you can use any e-mail address and it is not mandatory to provide the e-mail address of the insured person himself) in the "E-mail" and "E-mail verification" fields. After clicking on "Send", a screen will appear to confirm or correct the details. After clicking on "Confirm", an email will be sent to the address entered. If the delivery of the email is delayed by several minutes, please check if it did not arrive in the junk mail folder, or in the "All emails" folder.
The email that will be sent will contain a link: "click on this link to log in". After clicking on the link, fill in the ID number, date of birth and date of issue of the ID card. In addition, it is necessary to enter the cell phone number and e-mail address at which you wish to receive the code (it is not necessary to enter the exact e-mail address or cell phone number of the insured person himself).
Then click on "Send me a secret code" and the code will be sent to the e-mail address and cell phone number provided by the insured.
In the personal area, under the right menu, you can click on personal information, "update contact information" and "change contact information". In the first step, the email address must be updated. The options that will appear on the screen are: "
- I confirm that my email address is:...",
- "I do not have an email address or do not wish to use it",
- "I want to update my email address." After clicking on "I wish to update...", you can enter a new email address. After that, a screen will appear in which the insured will have to enter a verification code that was sent to him/her by e-mail.
After entering the verification code, you can proceed to the next screen where the cell phone number must be entered.
As in the previous step, at the stage of entering the cell phone number the following options will also appear :
- "I confirm that my cell phone number is:...",
- "I don't have a cell phone or don't want to use it",
- "I would like to update my cell phone number", and here too, it will be necessary to enter the verification code that will be sent to the insured by SMS message on the cell phone.
In the following steps, you can update both the landline phone number (or declare that you do not have one) and the mailing address, without having to enter a verification code.
As a last step, click "Confirm" to confirm the changes or click "Back" to go back and make corrections if necessary.
In the right-hand menu, click on "Upload Documents" and select the category and type of document. Then click on "Attach a file" and select the file saved on your computer or cell phone. You can download documents of type: JPG, PNG, TIF, TIFF and PDF.
The maximum file size is up to 5 MB. Required Documents: If the system indicates a document requirement, it will not be possible to upload additional documents by internet for the topic subject to this requirement.
If documents are required, you must enter "required documents" and, at the bottom of the page, click on "Upload file".
After clicking on "Upload File", a screen will appear with a list of required documents and a button entitled "Select File". You must click on the button to upload the file from your computer or cell phone, and mark in the list the document to be uploaded. Then click on "Send".
