Impersonating Nova festival survivors to obtain recognition as victim of hostile actions


​Police officers of the national division of fight against financial crime unit 433, under an joint investigation with the National Insurance, have detained for investigation the suspects who submitted fraudulent claims to the National Insurance, in order to be recognized as victim of hostile actions due to the 7/10 events, even though they were did not attend at all the Nova festival and disclosed false information.

Following the security events and the crimes against humanity committed by the murderous terror organization Hamas on 7.10.23, the National Insurance advanced immediate assistance to tens of thousands of victims of the disaster, and among them, too, thousands of participants to the Nova festival that took place in the area.

As an integral part of the policy of the National Insurance, it has been determined that all those who survived this hell, would be able to submit a claim the National Insurance and to receive an assistance amounting to several thousand NIS. It was further decided that later on one would even examine their eligibility for receiving additional advantages from the State after being recognized as victims of hostile actions.

At the Division of investigations of the National Insurance, information has been collected showing that some individuals took advantage of the situation and submitted fraudulent claims as though they attended the festival and survived this hell. The Investigation Division of the National Insurance forwarded their details to the investigators of the financial crime division unit 433, who immediately launched an investigation.

This week, the suspects have been summoned for investigation at the Division offices, by the end of which they were released under restrictive conditions. The investigation is ongoing.
