Reservists will receive a benefit from the National Insurance for their military service early November immediately and not at the end of the service period

Due to the war and in light with the extensive reserve service deployment, the National Insurance, the Ministry of Defense and the economic accountant of the Ministry of Finance reached an outline summary - on paying a benefit for the period of reserve service as soon as from the beginning of November and not at the end of the service period, as done so far.

Self-employed

They will receive an automatic payment as follows:

  • Those who ended their service during the month of October - will receive the benefit a few days after the end of their service.
  • Those whose period of service continues also in the month of November - will receive the benefit for the month of October at the beginning of November.

The amount of the benefit will be determined according to the advances declared to us.

Non-working citizens and students

They will receive an automatic payment at the beginning of November, without needing to submit a claim.
The benefit will be of the minimum amount of NIS 310.52 (as of Jan 01, 2024) per day.

Please note that if you don't have any bank account updated in our records - it is advised to update it on our website now.

Salaried employees

They will continue to receive their usual compensation from your employer at the current wage amount.

Employers

By law, you have the obligation to pay during reserve service a benefit amounting to the usual wage, as if the employee didn't deploy in reserve service.

To help you during that period, you will be able to submit a claim for refund of benefit payment to employees on a monthly basis, even if the service has not ended and is still ongoing.
For instance: for a benefit paid to an employee in the month of October, you will be able to submit a refund claim in the month of November, even if that employee is still deployed in reserve service.
Please note that for an employee who carries on serving even in the month of November - you have to report on the claim form an ending date of service on 31.10.23.
