Moving the deceased body into refrigeration

The National Insurance funds the removal of deceased people and their transportation to refrigeration during the days and hours the funeral societies are not active.

The transfer is performed as follows:

On usual working hours through a funeral company

From Sunday to Thursday between 8:00 and 16:00, and on Friday and holiday eves between 8:00 and 13:00 - the transfer is performed by funeral company.

After usual working hours (Shabbat and holidays included) through an inquiry to the call center *0120

The transfer through an inquiry to the call center for removal of dead people operated by the Ministry of Religious Services at *0120

Please note that the National Insurance do not refund expenses incurred by close relatives who privately took care of the deceased's transfer  into refrigeration, and not through the call center for removal of dead people.

Moving the deceased for burial on funeral day at any hour of the day

The transportation is carried out by the funeral society, free of charge, in the following cases:

  • The place of death and the place of burial are both within the boundaries of the municipality in which the funeral society is active.

    or
  • From the hospital located outside boundaries of the municipality in which the funeral society is active, provided that it is the closest hospital providing health care services to the municipality's residents where the deceased lived.
