Conditions of entitlement


Who is eligible for quarantine benefit?

  • The self-employed who meets the definition of self-employed according to the National Insurance:
    - working at least 20 hours per week on average,
    - or whose average monthly income amounts to {139901} and above
    - or who is working at least 12 hours per week on average, and whose average monthly income amounts to NIS 1,880 (as of Jan 01, 2024) and above
  • The self-employed who meets the definition, and is registered as self-employed with the National Insurance.
  • The self-employed who meets the definition of self-employed and also works as salaried employee - will receive quarantine benefit for his or her work as self-employed and the employer will receive quarantine benefit for his or her salaried work.
  • The self-employed who doesn't meet the definition and also works as a salaried employee - his or her employee will receive quarantine benefits for his or her work as salaried employee, and she or he will not be entitled to quarantine benefits for self-employed work.

  • Exposure to an infected person - and you aren't vaccinated nor recovering. 
  • Caring for your child under 12 who caught the Corona  or caring for a helpless person who caught the Corona (even if you are vaccinated) - eligibility for quarantine benefits is only granted for quarantine days spent from 30.12.21 to 22.5.22.
  • Any other situation where a physician established that you need to enter quarantine on your own behalf.
From the fourth day since the day on which you were notified your mandatory entry in self-confinement.
You came back from a trip abroad and compelled to enter quarantine

Upon confirmation by the Health Ministry

You cared for your child subject to mandatory quarantine and he or hasn't caught Corona 
(even if you are vaccinated or recovering)

Eligibility is granted whether the child is under 16, or above 16 and needs personal assistance due to a disability. This also applies to an adoptive family with a child in its care.

You are in quarantine since you caught the virus of Corona

Eligibility for quarantine benefit is only granted for the period between 21.12.21 and 14.2.22.
In case of sickness the quarantine report shall be transferred to us automatically, and there is no need to report to the Ministry of Health; you must however submit to us a claim for quarantine benefit

You won't receive payment for a quarantine period in following cases:

  • You kept working for a salary during the quarantine period.
  • You entered quarantine due to a return from a private travel abroad
  • You were in quarantine and during your isolation you were identified as infected - you will be entitled to quarantine benefits until the eve of your identification as Covid-infected person.
    We receive this information from the Ministry of Health.

Report to the Ministry of Health

If you are staying in isolation or watching over your child who is in isolation - you have to report the quarantine to the Ministry of Health in real time. The certificate should be kept in case you were required to present it.

Please note,
  • The payment will be made only for quarantine day that were reported to the Ministry of Health, it is therefore important to report quarantine periods to the Ministry of Health in real time. Should you be late in reporting quarantine, the payment will at most cover the 4 days preceding the date of report.
  • In case of sickness the quarantine report shall be transferred to us automatically, and there is no need to report to the Ministry of Health.
