Phone support and information center for the elderly and their families

The National Insurance Institute's Counseling Service for the Elderly operates a national support and information call center, free of charge, at the following telephone numbers: *9696 or 02-6709857. Besides, inquiries may be sent by email at

Human response is provided Sundays through Thursdays, from 9:00 till 13:30. After those hours a message can be left at the department for counseling to the elderly at local National Insurance Institute branches.

The call center service is provided by volunteers who have undergone vocational training and are happy to provide with professional, personal service.

Information on the following topics can be provided by the call center:
  • Take-up of rights at the National Insurance Institute;
  • Information on rights and services in the community;
  • Counseling on subjects relevant to senior citizens;
  • Personal support and a sympathetic ear.
