תאריך פרסום: 19.10.2026

The National Insurance Institute – Hostile Actions Department invites representatives from among the survivors of the parties and from bereaved families who do not live in the local authorities of the Gaza Envelope and the western Negev to apply for membership of the Council of the Memorial Authority for the Massacre and the Heroism of 22 Tishrei – October 7.

The candidates to be selected for the Council on behalf of National Insurance are:
  • A representative of the survivors of the parties held in the western Negev who is not a resident of the Eshkol, Sha'ar HaNegev, Sdot Negev or Hof Ashkelon regional councils, nor of Sderot or Ofakim
  • A representative of families who lost a family member who was at the parties held in the western Negev during the events of October 7, who is not a resident of the Eshkol, Sha'ar HaNegev, Sdot Negev or Hof Ashkelon regional councils, nor of Sderot or Ofakim
Residents of the Gaza Envelope and the western Negev will have separate representation on the Council.

The Council will work to shape a respectful and meaningful approach to commemoration that preserves the memory of those who were murdered and those who fell, commemorates the story of the survivors and of the communities that were harmed, and ensures that the memory of the events of October 7 is passed on to future generations, out of national responsibility and a shared destiny.

This is as set out in the Law for the Remembrance of the Massacre and the Commemoration of the Heroism on 22 Tishrei (Simchat Torah) – October 7 (in Hebrew).

National Insurance believes that your voice and your unique perspective, as bereaved families of those who fell at the parties and as survivors of the parties, will make a significant contribution to shaping the ways of commemoration and the Authority's policy.

The Council member selected will represent the full range of different needs and will help shape a policy that reflects the commitment to the memory, commemoration and legacy of the events of October 7.

Candidates who consider themselves suitable for the role can apply using the online form (in Hebrew).

Please note: the form can be submitted until 5 November 2026.
