First-of-its-kind move for the take-up of rights in home rent assistance: The Ministry of Construction and Housing and the National Insurance Institute embarked on a proactive move for the take-up of rights for thousands of citizens

First-of-its-kind move for the take-up of rights in home rent assistance:

The Ministry of Construction and Housing and the National Insurance Institute embarked on a proactive move for the take-up of rights for thousands of citizens.

The Ministry of Construction and Housing and the National Insurance Institute have completed a joint and first-of-its-kind move in recent days, which places the taking-up of rights for entitled citizens at the heart of government action.

As part of the cooperation, and after professional and in-depth staff work, the recipients of benefits that entitle them to home rent assistance from the Ministry of Construction and Housing were identified. We then took a proactive step to identify potential beneficiaries for home rent assistance and subsequently contacted them directly.

Starting this month, text messages will be sent to approximately 40,000 citizens who are found to be potentially eligible for home rent assistance, with the aim of encouraging them to exercise their rights and instructing them on how to act.

The text messages direct potential beneficiaries to submit a claim online, or alternatively to one of the branches of the ministry's registration companies that provide services regarding housing assistance. It should be noted that this is a process that will be incorporated into the ministry's ongoing work, and text messages regarding the exercise of rights will also be sent in the future to those whom the system identifies as potentially eligible.
