The spouse of the victim (widow, widower, or common law partner) is entitled, soon after the day of widowhood, to a special grant for the financing of special needs.
The grant amount is determined by law and paid once the event has been confirmed as a hostile action by the branch of the National Insurance Institute nearest the place of residence.
Furthermore, the grant is paid to the widow and widower once every 7 years.
