Holocaust survivors - eligibility for additional care hours


A Holocaust survivor may be eligible for supplementary long-term care hours or cash benefit, in addition to nursing services or long-term care benefit he or she receive from the National Insurance.

Are entitled those who meet these 2 conditions:

 
  1. Be recognized as persecuted by one of the following official organizations: Holocaust Survivors Rights Authority, the Claims Committee or under the West German Federal Indemnification Law – BEG (Personal Executions Office).
  2. Be entitled to a long-term care benefit.
 

How the supplement may be obtained?

Those who were received 6 points and above in the nursing dependence assessment, and receive a full long-term care benefit, will receive an increment as follows:

  • If they received in their long-term care program personal home care hours - they will receive 9 additional care hours.
  • If they received in their long-term care program other services beside personal home care hours - they will receive a monthly payment on their bank account.

Those who were received 6 points in the nursing dependence assessment, and receive a reduced long-term care benefit due to income of up to NIS 2,000 per month

They will receive a regular monthly payment directly on their bank account. The payment will amount to the equivalent of 4.5 weekly care hours. Each care hour is worth NIS 225 (as of Apr 01, 2024) per month. 

Those who were received 5 or 5.5 points in the nursing dependence assessment, and receive a full long-term care benefit in kind or in cash

They will receive a regular monthly payment directly on their bank account.

Those who do not receive a long-term care benefit because you have accrued 1.5 or 2 points in the dependence assessment

They will receive a regular monthly payment directly on their bank account. The payment will amount to the equivalent of 2 weekly care hours. Each care hour is worth NIS 225 (as of Apr 01, 2024) per month.
