A stillbirth and the loss of a baby are a traumatic time for the mother and her family. The National Insurance Institute tries to support the mother as much as possible by providing her rights and benefits.
A mother who gave birth after the 22nd week of pregnancy and the baby was stillborn or the baby died after birth will be entitled to a
hospitalization grant, a
birth grant and
maternity allowance according to all the rules set out in the law.
A mother who gave birth to a stillborn child and wishes to return to work during the period for which she received maternity allowance can contact the National Insurance Institute branch in her place of residence to check her rights.
