The
old age pension is paid on the 28th of the month (for that month) into a
recipient's personal bank account only, or one shared with a spouse,
parent, sibling, son or daughter. For some months of the year, the payment date of the benefit may
vary on the occasion of holidays.
The payment dates are updated
on the benefit payments table.
A
person born before the 15th of the month will begin to receive the
pension during the month in which he or she reached the age entitling
them to a pension.
A
person born after the 15th of the month will begin to receive the
pension in the month after the month in which he or she reached the age
entitling them to a pension. If, however, the recipient is entitled to
an income supplement to the pension, they will begin to receive the
pension in the month in which they reached the age entitling them to a
pension.
