Grant for one-time arrangements

Your eligibility for a grant will be examined by the NII, if, due to your disability, you require assistance for one or all of the following purposes:
  1. Adaptation of your living quarters
  2. Purchase accessories
  3. Purchase of a vehicle to solve your mobility problems

Conditions of entitlement to the grant

  1. You have a permanent degree of disability of 75% or more or you have a permanent degree of disability of 65-74% due to which you have difficulty in walking (subject to authorization by an NII physician).
  2. After conducting an examination of your case, the NII authorized your plans regarding the use of the grant.
  3. You are in Israel.
  4. The grant for assistance in the purchase of a vehicle will be paid to you, provided that the NII has determined that you have limited mobility (under Mobility Agreement); this grant will render you eligible for a standing loan. If you will not be driving the vehicle yourself, you will be eligible for a grant only if the person driving the vehicle for you has been authorized as a driver by the NII’s Department of Mobility.

The amount of the grant

The amount of the grant is determined in accordance with the amount of actual expenditures incurred for the implementation of the program authorized by the NII. In any event, it may not exceed the maximum amounts determined by the NII. The amounts are adjusted  periodically.

      • Grant for adaptation of living quarters – up to NIS 66,116 (as of Apr 01, 2024). For quadriplegics or for wheelchair-bound persons – NIS 110,205 (as of Apr 01, 2024).
      • Grant for accessoriesNIS 19,925 (as of Jan 01, 2024). For quadriplegics or for wheelchair-bound persons – NIS 39,852 (as of Jan 01, 2024).
      • Grant for purchase of vehicle
For persons driving the vehicle themselves – The price of the vehicle (before taxes) multiplied by the percentage of mobility limitation that the NII has determined for you (under Mobility Agreement), divided by 100.

For example: If your work disability degree is 90% and the mobility limitation determined for you is 60%, the amount of the grant will be calculated in accordance with the price of the vehicle (before taxes) times 60 divided by 100.

For persons not driving the vehicle themselves – 75% of the price of the representative model of a vehicle with a 1300-cubic-centimeter engine (under Mobility Agreement) times the percentage of mobility limitation that the NII has determined for you (under the agreement), divided by 100.

Payment of the grant

After it has approved a grant for one-time arrangements, the NII is authorized to exercise its discretion and to pay only part of the amount, until it can be proven that the grant will be used for the purpose for which it is intended and for which it was authorized.

If the NII find that you are not using all or part of the grant for the purpose for which it is intended, it may delay payment of the remainder of the grant and may demand that you return the grant money that you have already received or deduct the grant money you have received from any NII benefit to which you are entitled. Furthermore, the NII may ask you to cooperate on the preparation of another plan or on the alteration of the original plan and may supervise the new/altered plan’s implementation.
