Eligibility for an old age pension at the first age (retirement age)


A woman who reaches the first age (^20^) while she is a housewife, may be eligible for an old-age pension at this age, if she complies with all the following conditions:

1.  She is covered by old-age insurance.

2.  She has reached retirement age.

“Retirement age” for women according to date of birth (eligibility at this age depends on income)

3.  She accumulated one of the periods of insurance while she was insured as a “non-housewife”.

60 months during which she was insured as a “non-housewife” during the last 10 years before retirement age, according to the table above;
or
144 months during which she was insured as a “non-housewife”;
or
At least 60 months during which she was insured as a “non-housewife”, on condition that the number of months during which she was insured from the time she became a resident of Israel for the first time, is greater than the number of months during which she was not insured.

A housewife who received a general disability pension during the month preceding the day she reached retirement age is exempt from a period of qualification, and will be eligible for a benefit at retirement age.
