Pregnant minors


A young girl under 18 years old may be entitled to income support benefit as of week 13 of her pregnancy, on condition that she meets one of the following conditions:

  • She does not live with her parents
  • Her parents are income support recipients
  • She lives with one parent who receives income support

To be eligible, she has to meet the other conditions of entitlement to the benefit.
A minor girl who is institutionalized and fully supported by the Treasure, Jewish Agency, local authority or a religious institution – is not eligible for the benefit.

A minor girl who was working may be entitled for maternity allowance, as a 18 years old insured, provided that she meets the other conditions of entitlement to maternity allowance.
