How may I know that the person sent to examine me is actually a representative of the National Insurance Institute?

In general, the visit is scheduled in advance with you over the telephone. The assessor who is supposed to examine you will wear an identity badge, besides, you can ask him to show you a document of identifying him as a representative of the National Insurance Institute.
