How to submit a claim


​The claim can be submitted upon reception of the child by the foster family in view of adoption - waiting until the reception of an adoption order issued by the Court is not necessary.

Documents to be submitted

  1. Claim for adoption allowance
  2. List of incomes - an employee has to as his or her employer to complete the part of the form dedicated to employers. Whether there were salary changes in the 6 months preceding the work cessation for medical reason or other grounds, the employee must provide the appropriate authorization related to that ground.
  3. Adoption abroad - a notarized translation of adoption documents must be attached, with mention of the reception date of the child.
  4. Adoption in Israel - an authorization of the welfare officer regarding the notification of the adoption. The child's month and year of birth must be noted on the authorization.

Additional document to be submitted:

  • A person who was in vocational training or rehabilitation in the last two years - an authorization of the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Labor and Welfare regarding the place and the period of the training or rehabilitation.
  • A person who was on military service in the 22 months preceding the adoption - a discharge permit from Tsahal must be attached.
  • A person who was on national service in the 22 months preceding the adoption - an official document from the National Service Administration must be attached, if a service of at least 12 months was performed.
  • A person who is an income tax exemption beneficiary - the exemption must be attached.

How to send the documents

You can send the claim form and additional documents by means of the website, or submit them by mail, by fax or in the service box of the NII branch according to your place of residence.

Please note, a claim submitted after the lapse of 12 months since work cessation, you may loose your rights to adoption allowance.
