Marriage grant for orphans

Who is eligible for the grant?

  • An orphan up to the age of 30 who has already married – is entitled to a marriage grant amounting to NIS 165,175 .
    An orphan who has already turned 30 without having married will receive an amount equivalent to the marriage grant.
  • An orphan up to the age of 37 who has lost both parents in hostile actions – is entitled to a double grant of NIS 330,350 .

If he was married at the time of his parents' death, but was not yet 37 years old – he may be entitled to 80% of the double grant, provided that no more than two years have elapsed between the day of the marriage and the day of his parents' death.

How do I get the grant?

In order to receive the grant, a copy of the orphan's marriage certificate must be sent to the Hostile Actions Casualties Department of your local branch of the National Insurance.

Please note that an orphan who receives the payment of a housing grant and then claims a marriage grant, or an orphan aged 30 will get the difference between the marriage grant and the housing grant he or she receives.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah grant for orphans

Orphans of victims of terrorism receive a grant when they reach the age of Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

The amount of the grant is NIS 10,208 .

Who is eligible for the grant?

  • Girls - when they turn 12 years old
  • Boys - when they turn 13 years old

How do I get the grant?

The grant is paid automatically with the compensation of the month in which the Bar/Bat Mitzvah is celebrated.

Grant for a widow or widower whose children have married

Who is eligible for the grant?

The spouse of the victim (Widow/widower or common law couples) is entitled to a special grant on the occasion of the marriage of their children, which amounts to NIS 9,786.

In order to obtain the grant, you must meet the following two conditions:

  • The marrying son or daughter are the orphans of a victim.
  • The marrying son or daughter have become orphans before the age of 21.

How to obtain the grant?

In order to receive the grant, a copy of the son's or daughter's marriage certificate must be sent to the Hostile Actions Casualties Department of your local branch of the National Insurance.

Birth grant for bereaved parents

Who is eligible for the grant?

Bereaved parents who have given birth to a child after the loss of their son or daughter are entitled to a special birth grant.

How do I get the grant?

In order to receive the grant, a copy of the birth certificate must be sent to the Hostile Actions Casualties Department of your local branch of the National Insurance.

Loans in the event of Bar/Bat Mitzvah and marriage

The bereaved parents are entitled to loans in the event of Bar/Bat Mitzvah and marriage of their son/daughter (siblings of the victim).

The loan for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah amounts to NIS 7,692.

The loan for a marriage amounts to NIS 18,219.


The widow or widower of the victim are entitled to loans in the event of Bar/Bat Mitzvah and marriage of their son/daughter (siblings of the victim).

The loan for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah amounts to NIS 4,195.

The loan for a marriage amounts to NIS 10,261.
