Income Support

Returning residents are in the care of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption after they return to Israel, and may be eligible for support from the Ministry during the first year after their arrival in Israel.

In certain cases, returning residents can receive an income support benefit from the National Insurance Institute as a supplement to the support provided by the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption.

At the end of the period of entitlement to the support from the Ministry, the returning resident can check his/her eligibility for an income support benefit from the NII. He/she may be eligible for a benefit providing he/she has been recognized as an Israeli resident and has lived in Israel as a resident for at least 24 consecutive months (taking into account the period he/she lived in Israel as a resident before leaving the country). Moreover, he/she must also to meet the other conditions of eligibility for an income support benefit.

To receive the benefit, he/she must fill out an income support Claim Form, and submit it to the local NII branch nearest to his/her place of residence. He/she must also attach a confirmation from the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption regarding the period during which the Ministry gave him/her support.
