Self-Employed Person

You are considered as a “self-employed person” if you belong to ONE of the following categories:

  • You engage in your profession on an average of at least 20 hours per week.
  • Your average monthly income equals or exceeds 50% of the average wage - {139901}.
  • You engage in your profession on an average of at least 12 hours per week and your average monthly income equals or exceeds 15% of the average wage -  NIS 1,880 (as of Jan 01, 2024).

A self-employed person who does not belong to any of the above categories is considered, as far as obligatory payments and eligibility for benefits are concerned, a person who has an income from sources other than work.
