A mother who is entitled to maternity allowance for 15 weeks and whose newborn requires further hospitalization or must be hospitalized for at least 15 days during the course of the birth and parenthood leave – is entitled to
extended birth and parenthood leave and additional maternity allowance for the period of
hospitalization, but for no more than 20 weeks.
A mother who is entitled to maternity allowance for 8 weeks and whose newborn requires further hospitalization or must be hospitalized for at least 15 days during the course of the birth and parenthood leave – is entitled to
extended birth and parenthood leave and additional maternity allowance for the period of
hospitalization, but for no more than 12 weeks.
Please note - if both the mother and the newborn were hospitalized for a short time of 15 days within the birth and parenthood period, it is possible to add up and complete the mother's and the newborn's hospitalization periods in order to reach entitlement to the birth and parenthood period extension, provided that hospitalizations period are not simultaneous.
