If you did not work for a period of 6 months, the following months may also be included into the qualifying period:
- Months in which you have received vacation pay from your employer;
- Months in which you have received sick pay or pay in lieu of annual leave from a provident fund;
- First two months of unpaid leave for which the employer is obligated to pay insurance contributions on your behalf;
- Months in which you have received one the of the following benefits from the NII: work injury, unemployment, accident, maternity allowance (for prior birth), pregnancy bed rest (for prior birth) or 100% work disability benefit;
- Months of vocational training or rehabilitation - these months may only be included if you have worked at least 30 consecutive days before the day you stopped working due to pregnancy bed rest.
- A female permanent service soldier must contact the Ministry of Defense for information about her rights during the pregnancy bed rest.
