Submitting a claim for recognition as hostile actions casualty


If you were injured in a hostile action, you must complete a Notice of Injury in a Hostile Action and a Claim for Recognition as a Victim of Hostile Actions, and submit it to the branch of the National Insurance nearest to your place of residence.

Transfer of the claim for approval by the certifying authority of the Ministry of Defense

The claim and accompanying documents will be forwarded for approval to the certifying authority of the Ministry of Defense, which is empowered to recognize you as a victim of hostile actions. The claim will be reviewed in accordance with the conditions of entitlement. The certifying authority's decision will be communicated to you by letter.

Important information!

  • Date of submission of the claim – the claim must be filed within one year from the date of the injury. Submitting a claim after the deadline may affect your right to compensations.
  • If your recognition claim is approved, you can also submit claims for determination of disability degree and for payment of disability pension.

  • Appeal against claim denial – If your application has been denied by the certifying authority, you can submit a written appeal to the Appeals Committee within two months of receiving the decision. The address for filing the appeal: Regional Court, 1 Weizmann Street, Tel Aviv 6423901.
    The decision of the Appeals Committee is final.
  • Updating information – You must inform the National Insurance's branch nearest to your residence of any change in your personal information, such as a change of address, marital status or state of health , and modification of bank account details by completing a personal information update notice.

Verifying eligibility for medical treatment compensation

If, as a result of the injury, you are on sick leave or receiving medical treatment which prevents you from working (upon certificate from the attending physician) - you may be entitled to medical treatment compensation, to receive the compensation you need to submit a claim for medical treatment compensation. Please note that a claim for compensation of medical treatment will only be processed after the certifying authority has confirmed the prejudice as a hostile actions injury.
