Appealing the results of a functioning capacity examination


A person submitting a claim for a long-term care benefit has the right to appeal the decision of the claims officer on the level of dependence in daily activities or need for supervision determined for them.

Where to sumit the appeal

The appeal can be submitted either to the Advisory Committee or the Labor Court.

  • Appeal to an Advisory Committee - the Advisory Committee comprise a medical doctor and a nurse who are not employed by the National Institute Insurance. The appeal to the Advisory Committee must be submitted through the local NII branch handling the claim, within 60 days of receiving the claims officer's decision.

    Appeal committees hold hearings in three locations in northern, southern and central Israel, serving the area's residents according to the following list:
