Level 3


A Level 3 long-term care benefit is granted to those who have scored between 5 and 6 dependency points in functioning capacity examination.

If you were granted a Level 3 long-term benefit – you will receive 17 care hours per week, and if you employ a foreign worker, 14 hours per week.

Exchanging care hours for money

Each care hour is worth NIS 225 (as of Apr 01, 2024) per month.

You can exchange some care hours for cash benefit by the following way:

  • Exchanging 4 weekly hours for cash benefit – a benefit worth 4 hours amounts to NIS 900 (as of Apr 01, 2024) per month.
  • Exchanging up to 6 weekly hours for cash benefit – a benefit worth 6 hours amounts to NIS 1,350 (as of Apr 01, 2024) per month. This option is conditional upon review and approbation by a social worker on behalf of the National Insurance Institute.

For example, if you employ an Israeli caregiver, you can receive 13 care hours per week as well as a cash benefit of NIS 900 (as of Apr 01, 2024) per month.

If you choose to receive part of the benefit in cash, it will be paid on your bank account  in the month following a selection has been made.

Receiving long-term care services

You can exchange some personal care hours at home or all of them for long-term care services which include: visit in daycare centers , Kehila Tomechet membershipabsorbent products panic button, and laundry services - the value of the services is detailed in each service's link.

Please note, if you are recipient of a reduced benefit due to incomes, you will be entitled to a half benefit in every option you might select.
